Protact® two-piece aerosol

Protact® two-piece aerosol

Versatile
The Protact® 2-piece aerosol, made by DS Containers (DSC), is the first consumer package of its kind in the USA. Using proprietary technology developed by DSC’s partner, Daiwa Can Company of Japan, the new container will initially target the aerosol sector, but is equally adaptable to other packaging formats and any liquid or viscous product. The use of Protact® polymer-coated steel makes it a really versatile and highly adaptable package that accepts numerous closure systems for multi-purpose uses. Both the can and the end are made of Protact®.

Safe
The use of Protact® gives superior quality through its well-known protection against corrosion, state-of-the-art decoration possibilities and food safety through FDA approval. The use of Protact® makes it possible to safely pack a wide range of products, from aerosol products to liquids. The can offers improved safety: a better built can through elimination of potentially vulnerable side and top seams. The use of Protact® as polymer-coated material means that no VOCs are emitted in the production process.

Attractive
The Protact® 2-piece aerosol combines value and product integrity in a can that gives marketeers the look and feel of a premium package, with great consumer appeal. The seamless pack offers high quality decoration possibilities with no risk of corrosion.

Initiate
The DSC container is modelled after Daiwa Can’s successful ‘bottle can’. Daiwa’s existing bottle can technology is now transferred to polymer-coated steel.

Co-operate
Protact® is a tough and durable packaging material. It’s the material of choice for the bottle can forming process which is a fairly severe forming process. Corus Packaging Plus has supported the development of the polymer-coated steel and the tooling/can making aspects, based on our experience with the use of polymer-coated steels.

Deliver
DS Containers starts production later in 2005. Commercialisation of the can is expected in the 3rd quarter 2005.
