It is also possible to achieve stunning decorative effects with surface finishes or polymer-coated layers, adding enormous design potential to steel packaging.
Embossing
Embossing is a particularly subtle form of shaping that is made possible by steel’s ability to retain 3D definition. There is great potential to emphasise brands by combining embossing with high quality surface finishes and innovative graphics. Printing
Steel can be printed on the flat using the latest high quality printing technology, giving an unrivalled finish. Steel packaging provides an excellent surface for a wide range of decorative and printing operations. Surface texture can be produced to highlight specific decorative effects. See the image on the left, which shows great print potential. Steel for three-piece packs is often printed on the flat prior to shaping.
