Easy-open ends
Cans with easy-open ends are very popular as a practical and robust packaging. They open quickly, offering the consumer convenience indoors and outdoors. Special high nitrogen steel grades from Corus Packaging Plus make steel cans that are up to 30% easier to open.
Peel-off ends
Designed for quick, easy and safe removal, peel-off ends have become widely appreciated by consumers and demand is growing.
The modern and fresh appearance of peel-off ends conveys a top-of-the-line image. Peel-off ends help building brand differentiation. With printing and embossing, the peel-off ends delivers real stand-out on the shelf. This enables brand owners to pursue market growth within the canned food sector.
Peelable ends are available in two versions:
- Classic method: the peelable foil is sealed upon a metal ring (made of Protact polymer-coated steel). This closure can then be seamed upon the can with current equipment after filling.
- Direct seal: the peelable foil is sealed directly on a specially designed container (made of Protact) with current heat-seal equipment after filling.
