Corus Packaging Plus continuously innovates to add value to and reduce the costs of steel aerosols. Examples of such developments are:

Protact® for tops, bottoms and valve cupes
Corus’ unique Protact polymer-caoted steel provides the ultimate solution for both internal and external coatings of aerosol components. It has properties that offer excellent protection against corrosion and abrasion resistance, while giving a superb gloss finish.

Components made of Protact are used for aerosols containing the broadest range of products, from deodorants to edible cream, from shaving cream to perfume. Even the most hard-to-hold products can be contained without fear of contamination or coating failure. Discover why Tesco  chose to pack its own brand shaving mousse in an aerosol can with a Protact bottom.

Protact 2-piece aerosol
The Protact two-piece aerosol, made by DS Containers, combines value and product integrity in a can that gives brands an opportunity to use a premium package with great consumer appeal. The weld-less pack offers high quality decoration possibilities with protection against corrosion.

Initially aimed at the aerosol sector, it is equally adaptable for other packaging formats. It is suitable for liquid and viscous products, and numerous closure systems make it truly multi-purpose. Read more

Seamless aerosols
Traditionally steel aerosols had side seams and aluminium aerosols did not. Corus’ high quality steel grades and knowledge of can making allow to break with this tradition. Now also seamless steel aerosols can be made. Indeed, the first two-piece aerosols are a reality, by Exal (former Boxal) in Europe and DS Containers  in the US. A one-piece or steel monobloc is just a matter of time!

Shaped aerosols
Corus has special high elongation steels that enable the production of shaped aerosols. Shaped aerosols are traditional aerosols that have been expanded. Shaped aerosols clearly differentiate themselves from all other aerosols on the shelves. In the past differentiation options were limited to colour, decoration and caps. Now true differentiation through distinctive can designs has become an opportunity.

The Buzz - freedom of design aerosols
Corus’ last concept packaging, the Buzz, is an aerosol that gives brands and designers a total freedom in design. This basically means that this aerosol does not need to be made out of steel or aluminium. Nor does it need to be a straight cylinder. Better still. Now aerosols can be safely made out of glass or plastics. It can have all kind of shapes, textures, decorations etc.
