From 1st September 2006, a new and improved load securing method for cutplate transports has been implemented across Corus Packaging Plus sites in The Netherlands (IJmuiden), United Kingdom (Trostre), Norway (Bergen) and Belgium (Duffel).

Corus Packaging Plus has developed a world-beating thinner material of 0.18mm for easy-open ends for food cans. The development, which has brought about a significant 10% material saving, was the result of a downgauging research programme undertaken by Corus with its customer Impress.

The Protact 2-piece aerosol can, made by DS Containers (DSC), is the first consumer package of its kind worldwide. Using proprietary technology developed by DSC’s partner, Daiwa Can Company of Japan, the new container will initially target the aerosol sector, but is equally adaptable to other packaging formats and any liquid or viscous product.
