Corus showcases world premieres of new packs made of Protact at Interpack 2005

Be Inspired by Protact polymer-coated steel. This is how packaging steel producer Corus Packaging Plus presents itself at Interpack 2005. The Corus philosophy not only will be demonstrated by the latest commercial developments with Protact. Also several world premieres of new packs that exploit the unique opportunities of Protact will be revealed.

Protact 2-piece aerosol can*

The Protact two-piece aerosol can made by DS Containers, is the first consumer package of its kind worldwide. The use of Protact gives superior quality through its well known protection against corrosion, state-of-the-art decoration possibilities, and excellent food safety performance through FDA- and EU compliance. The use of Protact makes it possible to pack a wide range of products, from aerosol products to liquids.

Tripod® Direct Seal Packaging Concept
The Tripod® design, developed by Impress, looks smart and modern and stands out on the shelf. An easy to open peelable lid provides extra convenience. The Protact coatings provide a hygienic modern appearance and the possibility of high print quality allows product differentiation.  The Tripod® design is ideal for a sleeved multipack made up of single serve portions offering a variety of products or flavours, which can be handled in the same way as a single can.

Protact and major brands

At the Corus stand visitors will be able to see how major brand owners are already enjoying success by using our polymer-coated steels, like Protact, for packaging solutions. Major brands have recognised the unique benefits of this new material. Some examples showcased at the stand:

• Akzo Nobel Sikkens paintcan with Protact ring and bottom. Offering both protection against corrosion and excellent lid retention.
• John West salmon can made of Protact. The ultimate foodsafe and durable fishcan.
• William Saurin salad bowl with Ferrolite ring and peelable end. Enabling consumers to enjoy a tasty meal with a new level of ease.
• Tesco shaving foam in aerosol with Ferrolite bottom. Completely protected against corrosion.
