Specifically for easy-open end applications we have developed a range of high strength steels, based on nitrogen steel grades.
These steels are bake hardenable and include a secondary ageing which simplifies the pressure resistance of the finished end. They are predominantly supplied at T67/DR550 strength levels Aerosol cans and promotional packaging

Corus Packaging Plus supplies soft temper grades which have been designed to ensure homogeneity in chemistry and cleanliness throughout the process route. 6-Sigma controlled process stability ensures very consistent mechanical properties and gauge control across the width and through the coil. The soft grade temper continuous annealed grades are as soft as aluminium, and both work and age harden, ensuring optimum processability at the can makers.
